‘Gita’, ‘Inversion’ hit Iran big screen

Two Iranian movies ‘Inversion’ and ‘Gita’ are set to open in Iranian cinemas on Wednesday, spokesperson for Iran’s Guild Council of Screening says.

Gholam-Reza Faraji was quoted by the media on Monday as saying that Iranian movie ‘Gita’ will be shown at “one of Azadi Cinema halls,” adding the movie along with Behnam Behzadi’s ‘Invesion’ is set to be featured as of Wednesday.

Masoud Madadi’s ‘Gita’ is a product of the Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) and produced by Majid Sheikhansari. The movie is about the life of a character bearing the name of the movie’s title and her husband Amir. Gita’s son is aboard and his absence is greatly felt by her. As the story unfolds it turns out life has unexpected events in store for the couple.

‘Gita’ was screened in the 34th Fajr Film Festival last February besides being admitted to competitive section of the 7th edition of the Oaxaca FilmFest, Mexico.

Inversion is Behzadi’s fourth directed feature film that has already attended Un Certain Regard section of Cannes Film Festival and received a positive review.

The drama centers around a woman, Niloufar, who decides to take charge and find ways to better express herself.
